Review: I saw this film only recently (2005) and is easily one of the best foreign films I've ever seen. In fact, it probably is only one of the best movies I've ever seen.The characters really make this film come to life with each of their charming personalities shine though the bottom of oppressive conditions, as well like family. Something that obviously comes to mind, Lil cubes smile from ear to ear - so bright and so ironic, because it embodies pure evil.The City of God is the world want to visit, which used to be displayed in a postcard, and called the city ignored God himself. This film makes you feel uncomfortable, put it on the edge of your seat - is right in the middle of the city and also caught in its violent temptations. Most importantly, it is the triumph of the human spirit against all odds.This film because of the fast and hard to follow (with the stress of a Portuguese subtitles), but it's worth; and do not really add quick and impulsive tones of the film.
